The 4 step process:

 These videos give an overview of the 4 basic steps needed to create a CNC program for a cutting machine.

Create parts from CAD:

 The first step is to convert geometry to SigmaNEST parts. SigmaNEST can import several CAD formats or use the built in CAD system to create a part.

Nest parts on a sheet:

 The second step is to select the machine for which the NC program is created, define the raw material that will be used and then nest the parts. The parts can be nested using SigmaNEST's proprietary nesting engine, the powerful manual nesting tools or with a combination of both.

Add machine motion:

The third step is to apply the NC motion to the nested parts. This will determine the sequence that the part will be processed in. The NC motion can be applied using the Auto-NC emulator or the NC motion can be added manually using the different manual NC functions. After the NC motion has been added other functions like common line cutting, chain cutting, bridge cutting or part avoidance can be applied.


Once that is complete,the NC program is created by selecting Post Single or the Post All function that will create the CNC program for the selected machine

Create a printed report:

 The final step in the process is to generate the reports. Reports can be sent to the shop floor if a auto queuing system, like Color Offload, is not used.
